Zehr Electric, which is actually now Croghan Electric, is only deserving of one star for the customer service that Jane provided. She was pleasant and knowledgeable the few times that we were in to look at products. Since this shop changed hands from Zehr Electric to Croghan Electric, the service has dramatically decreased. Gone are the days where the owner shows up within a day of being called. Expect several weeks, and expect to call at least two or three times to remind him that you requested service. My husband and I ordered a washer and dryer set about two weeks ago. We ordered Speed Queen, which is not a cheap set. We expected great service from a small business. There's so much concern these days about giving business to the small town businesses and that they provide better service. This is absolutely NOT the case with Croghan Electric. The washer and dryer that we ordered was supposed to be delivered on Thursday 8/3. I called on Wednesday 8/2 to confirm because I had not heard anything from them about the delivery, or the cost. When I called to confirm, I was told that the dryer was not yet in and that it would be in the next week. I called today, Monday 8/7 to ask when they would be in and when delivery would be this week. I received a call back to tell me that the order for the dryer was just placed this morning. Three business days after I spoke with them. I don't understand why it wasn't ordered two weeks ago when I placed the order, or at the very least, the day I called to confirm delivery last week. I cancelled my order. I will go to Brown's or another dealer that will provide the service any reasonable person should expect from a small business. Go elsewhere if you want a business that will respect you and your time. Croghan Electric will not do that.
